News release CCSO. On March 26, 2017 at about 1446 hrs, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office received information that a stolen vehicle was seen operating in the area of South Coos River Highway, east of Coos Bay. The vehicle was a green 1991 Chevy four-door sedan with Oregon license YRK 960 and listed stolen out of North Bend Police Department. At about 1503 hours a Sheriff’s Deputy observed the vehicle pulling into Myrtle Trees Boat Ramp on South Coos River Hwy, about 7 miles east of Coos Bay. In making contact with the vehicle the deputy found that it was being operated by a female identified as Heather Aday. There was also a male subject, Andrew Martin, in the backseat acting suspiciously, making furtive movements and appeared to be trying to hide. In a subsequent search of the vehicle and the 2 suspects a substance suspected to be methamphetamine was located. Both subjects were taken into custody for unauthorized use of a vehicle. Aday was also charged with Unlawful possession of Methamphetamine. Martin is on probation and a detainer was authorized by his probation officer. Both subjects were lodged at the Coos County Jail.
