Disaster responders with the American Red Cross Cascades Region are assisting approximately 50 people displaced by a multiple structure fire in Newport, OR. The fire affected two Newport hotels, the City Center Motel and the Days Inn. The Red Cross is providing a food and a safe place for evacuees to stay while the fire is contained and damage is assessed. The temporary Red Cross shelter is located at the Newport Armory, 541 SW Coast Hwy in Newport, OR.
