Strong winds ripped through the region today, causing thousands to lose power. Many areas remain under a high wind warning or advisory with gusts of 60-70 miles per hour in some locations. The storm-related incident affected 2 adults. * 12:30 p.m. in the 700 block of OR-99 in Eugene, OR. The storm-related incident affected 3 people, including 2 adults, 1 child and pets. * 12:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of NE Rosewood Court in Bend, OR. The storm-related incident affected 1 adult. * 2:00 p.m. in the 24000 block of S Sparrow Court in Canby, OR. The storm-related incident affected 2 adults and pets. In addition to storm-related responses, the local Red Cross also responded to assist eight people displaced by home fires in Newberg, Oregon and Longview, Washington. During these disaster responses, the Red Cross provided resources to help address the immediate basic needs of those affected such as temporary housing, food, clothing, comfort kits with toiletry items, information about recovery services, and health and mental health services.
