On March 14, 2017, the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office contacted detectives with the Oregon State Police Klamath Falls Area Command regarding information that one of their corrections officers may be having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate at the jail. After Klamath County Jail staff administration became aware of the possible inappropriate relationship involving a male corrections officer and a female inmate, they immediately referred the investigation to the Oregon State Police. Oregon State Police detectives interviewed the female inmate at the Klamath County Jail. During the course of the interview, the inmate disclosed sexual contact with the corrections officer. The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office placed the corrections officer on administrative leave following the disclosure. Oregon State Police Detectives completed a comprehensive investigation resulting in confirmation that the defendant had committed two misdemeanor crimes. The investigation was then referred the Klamath County District Attorney’s Office for review. On April 4, 2017, as a result of the findings of the investigation, the Klamath County District Attorney’s Office filed misdemeanor charges of Custodial Sexual Misconduct in the 2nd degree and Official Misconduct in the 1st degree against Bradley Marc Davis, age 26. On April 5, 2017, Mr. Davis was arraigned in Klamath County Circuit Court on the above listed charges. Mr. Davis pled guilty to Custodial Sexual Misconduct 2nd degree and Official Misconduct in the 1st degree.
