Lakeside, CCSO release – On June 29th at approximately 10:44am Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies received a report of a subject refusing to leave the Tree Acres Market property located at 72327 Highway 101 Lakeside, Oregon. When the deputies arrived they contacted Mindi Ann Nelson who was located in the suspect vehicle. Deputies checked Nelson’s driving and warrant status with dispatch. Deputies were advised that Nelson had a valid warrant for her arrest out of Douglas County. When the deputies told Nelson she was under arrest and attempted to handcuff Nelson, she pulled away and stated, “I’m not going to jail”. A struggle with Nelson occurred and ultimately she was taken to the ground to maintain control. The deputies were eventually able to secure Nelson in handcuffs and transport her to Coos County Jail. Nelson was charged with the warrant and for resisting arrest. Nelson’s bail was set at $20,000.
