A former North Bend resident will spend more than 80-months in prison following sentencing by two Coos County judges. Robbie Foss Schell, who moved from the Bay Area to Klamath Falls, was convicted of Strangulation – Immediate Presence of Minor Child, Menacing and Recklessly Endangering, Assault in the Fourth Degree – Immediate Presence of a Minor Child, Assault in the Fourth Degree, Strangulation, Menacing and Recklessly Endangering, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Menacing, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Menacing concerning Metal Knuckles involving an attack on his wife with a four-year old boy and two young girls present. Foss was arraigned on Oct. 21, 2014 and initially denied release, but later did post security. A two-day jury trial was scheduled for March 3rd & 4th, 2015. However, on March 3, 2015, just after 2 a.m., an intoxicated Foss was involved in an altercation with a cab driver that led to his arrest on charges of Attempted Assault in the Third Degree, Menacing, two-counts of Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, Attempted Assault in the Fourth Degree and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree. The jury trial was reset for March 31st & April 1st, 2015. Schell was found guilty of the first domestic violence charges and sentenced by Judge Martin Stone. Foss then went to trial on the second charges involving the taxi cab April 29, 2015. He was found guilty of all charges except an alternate theory of Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree. Judge Richard Barron sentenced him and also ordered Schell to play $90 in restitution to the cab company.
