RV Fire, May 11

News release from CCSO.  On May 10, 2017, at about 0206 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies and Charleston Fire Department were dispatched to an RV fire at the end of Alaska Packers Road in the Charleston Boat Basin. Upon arrival, the RV was fully engulfed in flames. The occupant, 27 year old Andrew Morgan, was transported to Bay Area Hospital by Bay Cities Ambulance for smoke inhalation and minor burns to his face and hands. The RV, a 1987 Sunville 34 foot motorhome, was a complete loss. The probable cause of the fire was from a cigarette. Andrew told deputies he was smoking prior to the fire, left the RV for a walk and returned 20 minutes later and it was on fire. Andrew stated he tried dumping cups of water on the fire and was unable to control it.
