A well known scam is circulating through Douglas County yet again. A scammer is calling residents claiming to be Sgt. Brad O’Dell with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and telling them they must post a bond in order to avoid further penalties. THIS IS A SCAM. Whether the person calling claims to be Sgt. O’Dell or any other law enforcement officer, don’t fall for the scam. The Sheriff’s Office will not call residents to ask for money or talk to them about warrants. If you receive these calls, HANG UP! Don’t fall victim to this scam. Please share this information with your friends and family – including those who may be most vulnerable.
