Wet weather is being blamed for an accident between a passenger vehicle and a school bus north of Gardiner Monday, Dec. 29, on Hwy. 101. There were no serious injuries. The bus was carrying Newport basketball players headed to Coos Bay to play in a tournament. A Ford Fusion, operated by a Florence resident, passed the bus but then hydroplaned on the wet pavement and stuck the front corner of the bus before plunging over an embankment. The 74-year old driver and her passenger had minor injuries.
