News release NBPD. On Tuesday, May 9th, at approximately 11:00PM, North Bend Police received several reports generated from a post on social media of a possible threat to the public school system. The post included photographs of two juvenile males posing with firearms and a caption that warned people to not go to school. North Bend Police Officers quickly identified and located the juveniles pictured in the post. The subjects were subsequently contacted and interviewed. It was discovered that the post was intended as a joke; however, law enforcement treated the post as a credible threat. The firearms pictured were seized and found to be airsoft non-lethal replicas. Neither of the subjects are currently enrolled in local area schools. This case is being referred to the Coos County Juvenile Department for further review.
