School Threat in NB, April 11

Schools are closed Wednesday in North Bend after a threatening message was found on a bathroom wall in the Middle School Tuesday. According to a news release from NBPD Chief Robert Kappleman, the message read “school shooting tomorrow…BE READY!!!”  An investigation began immediately with the School Resource Officer (SRO) interviewing multiple witnesses, but the individual responsible for the message has yet to be identified.  “The North Bend School District has been advised of the current status of the investigation.”  The District decided to cancel classes for all North Bend Schools for Wednesday.  “Our children’s safety is our top priority.”  A similar threat was found in a girl’s bathroom at Roseburg High School on Tuesday.  A suspect has been identified in that case and taken into custody.
