School Trespasser, Feb. 18

On February 17, 2016 at 12:53 pm Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies and a Newport Police officer responded to a report of an adult female who was trespassing on Waldport High School property. The investigation revealed school staff members contacted the subject and determined she had no students attending the school or reason to be on the property. When she was asked to leave and refused, law enforcement was contacted and as a precaution the school was placed in lock-down. The subject, later identified as Nicole Carlson, 34 years of age, of Tidewater was contacted by a sheriff’s deputy and she again refused to leave school property. Carlson was taken into custody and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail on the charges of Criminal Trespass in the second degree and Disorderly Conduct in the second degree. Her bail is set at $17,500. The investigation is ongoing and Carlson’s reason for trespassing is not known, but mental health issues are suspected.
