Another Sea Turtle that caught a ride north along the West Coast via a warm ocean current, only to be stranded in cold water when the southern current dissolved, is headed back to the warm waters of Southern California. The female Olive Ridley Sea Turtle was found Dec. 21, 2014 near the Long Island Peninsula, WA comatose and near death. “Solstice” was taken to the Oregon Coast Aquarium at Newport where it took months for her to recover. Further rehabilitation will take place at Sea World before the turtle is released back into the wild.
