A couple of tropical sea turtles, stranded in the cold waters of the Pacific Northwest when their warm northerly ocean current ran out, are getting healthier during rehabilitation on the Central Oregon Coast and ready to fly back to their native waters. However, their flight got delayed. The two Olive Ridley Sea Turtles were hitching a ride with a US Coast Guard training mission to Southern California, when mechanical issues delayed the March 17th scheduled flight. Thunder & Lightning were found nearly comatose on North Oregon Coast beaches. They were taken to the Oregon Coast Aquarium at Newport for care. The two will receive further rehabilitation in California before they are released back into the ocean.
