Seafood Processor Cited, Dec. 28

A North Coast seafood processor was cited by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) for allegedly discharging wastewater into the Columbia River at Astoria. According to a DEQ release, Da Yang Seafood was fined $105,000 for 32 violations between June 2018 and June 2021 at the company’s facility on Pier 2 at the Port of Astoria. The processor was also fined in 2015 for discharging wastewater into Youngs Bay, and 2017 for discharging wastewater into the Columbia River.
