Pete gets new Contract
The Seattle Seahawks reached agreement with coach Pete Carroll on a contract extension Tuesday night. Multiple media outlets reported that the new deal will run through 2019, though financial terms were not announced. Seahawks owner Paul Allen tweeted, “@Seahawks Thrilled to announce we have reached an extension with Super Bowl winning coach @PeteCarroll ! #GoHawks” The news broke two days after the Seahawks rewarded general manager John Schneider with a contract extension that reportedly runs through the 2021 season. Carroll has a 60-36 regular-season record and an 8-4 playoff record in six years with the Seahawks. He led Seattle to two Super Bowls, including its first championship in Super Bowl XLVIII. His current contract was scheduled to run out after the 2016 season. Carroll, 64, is the oldest coach in the NFL.
