CHW release – Coos Health & Wellness regrets to report the second death in Coos County due to Covid-19. We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the family, friends and others who have been impacted by this loss. This is a sobering reminder that this virus is active in our community. Coos County’s 2nd COVID-19 death is an 81 year old female who died November 24th in the hospital with underlying medical conditions. We encourage you to please be respectful of the family and their right to privacy during this time of loss. We have seen increasing cases in Coos County and with the holidays approaching it is more important than ever to continue with the tools we have to control the spread of this disease. The best tools that we have are social distancing, wearing masks and contact tracing. As a community we can continue these practices to help protect our most vulnerable members. We are actively following up with all Covid-19 cases and will continue to do so. Please remember that it is up to us, as a community, to protect ourselves and each other during this time. If you have any questions regarding COVID-19, please visit our website HERE for the most recent guidance, or email us at covid19.questions@chw.coos.or.us and we will work to respond to your question in a timely manner.
