A 36-year old Coos Bay male who allegedly brandished a weapon at protestors during a BLM protest in Coos Bay has been indicted by a Coos County Grand Jury. Coos County District Attorney R. Paul Frasier says Brandon Dean Moore was arraigned on a secret indictment July 20. The Grand Jury met June 30 and heard testimony from nine witnesses. Moore has been charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon with a Firearm, a Class C Felony; Menacing, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree, a Class B Misdemeanor. “The office did ask the Grand Jury to consider charging Mr. Moore with a Bias Crime. After hearing evidence, the Grand Jury declined to indict Mr. Moore on a Bias Crime.” His next Court appearance has been set for August 24, 2020. Moore was released on his own recognizance with special conditions that he not possess any firearms and no contact with the alleged victim.
