The Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division in Springfield is asking for the public’s help locating the person(s) responsible for the unlawful killing and waste of a deer in Lane County. During the first week of August, a landowner in the Fall Creek Area southeast of Springfield reported finding a dead deer on his property. An Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Trooper from the Springfield Area Command responded to the location and found a large four point black tailed buck deer with a gunshot wound in the chest. The Oregon State Police is seeking the public’s help and requesting anyone who may have information regarding this incident to contact Senior Trooper Martin Maher at 541-726-2536 extension 424, or call the TIP Hotline at 1-800-452-788 or TIP E-Mail TIP@state.or.us. A $250 reward may be issued for information resulting in an arrest/conviction of person(s) for the illegal killing, taking, and/or waste of this deer. TIPs can remain anonymous.
