News release CBPL. The Coos Bay Public Library is hosting a Selling on Etsy workshop. The class will be held in the Coos Bay Public Library’s Myrtlewood Room on Friday, April 21st from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. The class is free and open to the public, but registration is required. People can call 541-269-1101 or visit the reference desk at the Coos Bay Library. Etsy is the world’s largest online market of handcrafted and vintage goods. This marketplace covers a wide range of products, from finished objects to project materials. This class is perfect for artists, craftsmen, or seamstresses looking for a place to sell their wares. Through this workshop, patrons will learn about the basics of setting up shop selling handmade or vintage items online using the Etsy platform. Participants in this class do not need to bring an electronic device. While the workshop will go over the process of signing up for the site and establishing a store, attendees are encouraged to go through those steps in their own time. This is in order to protect their information since credit card and bank account information is required for establishing a store and such transactions over a public wireless signal is less secure.
