Shark warning signs were posted Tuesday, March 5, on the North Oregon Coast at Pacific City following a surfer’s report of a shark that bit his surfboard. Thirty-three-year old Nathan Holstedt made it to shore safety, but says the shark missed his leg by six-inches. The attack occurred about 8:30 a.m. Shark attacks are rare in Oregon’s waters. Since 2000 there have been 14 reported attacks.
