Coos Co. DA release – April 20, 2022, This morning at 10:49 AM, the Coos County 911 Center received a 911 call that a shooting had occurred at an apartment located at 1574 Harvard Street in Bandon, Oregon. Police and medical personnel responded to the scene. Upon arrival, officer found an occupant of the apartment, 15 year old Finnian Lewis, had been shot. Medical personnel determined that he was deceased. The police have in custody the suspect who is believed to have shot Finnian. We are not releasing their name or relationship at this time, but will do so later (most likely later this evening.) The Coos County Major Crime Team was activated and officers from the Oregon State Police, both from North Bend and Roseburg, Coos County Sheriff’s Office, Coos Bay Police Department, North Bend Police Department, Coquille Police Department, the Coos County Medical Examiner’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office responded to assist in the investigation. Bandon Police will be the lead agency on this case. Anyone who may have information about this case is encouraged to contact the Bandon Police Department. A second release from the DA, April 20, 2022, “The suspect in the death of 15-year old Finnian Lewis is identified as 24-year old Torin Syrus Mowery. Mr. Mowery is the half-brother of Finnian and resided in the same apartment with Finnian. Mr. Mowery has been arrested and is currently lodged at the Coos County Jail. He was arrested on a charge of Murder in the Second Degree. Formal charges against Mr. Mowery will be filed tomorrow with the Coos County Circuit Court.”
