News release Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On 09-05-16 at approximately 00:04 AM the Coos County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an abandoned vehicle on a road in the Tenmile Lake area in Coos County. A Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived in the area of mile post 1.5 on Devore Arm Road in Lakeside, Oregon and found an abandoned motorhome blocking the roadway. The deputy contacted a suspicious subject in that area who was later identified as 53 year old Kery Huff of Coos Bay. During the contact with Mr. Huff, he was found in possession of a restricted short barreled shot gun. A further search of Kery Huff’s vehicle revealed a loaded pistol, a stun gun and suspected narcotics. A records check of Mr. Huff found him to be a convicted felon. Kery Huff was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail. He was booked on the charges of Unlawful Possession of a Short barreled Shotgun, Felon In Possession of a firearm (2 counts), and Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon.
