Shots Fired on Seagate, July 12

News release CBPD. On 07-09-16 Coos Bay Officers, along with the assistance of Coos County Sheriff’s Officer, and North Bend Police Department responded to the area of 820 Seagate on a report of shots fired. During the investigation, it was learned that Jimmy Edwards, of Coos Bay, had fired multiple rounds out of a flare gun at several victims. One of the flares fired from the gun started some items of personal property on fire at the residence. Edwards had fled the scene prior to law enforcements arrival. Edwards was later located in the brush nearby by Coos Bay Police K-9 Dak. When Edwards was located he was also found to be in possession of the flare gun believed to have been used in the incident. Edwards was arrested on several charges including Arson I, 4 counts of Menacing, Criminal Mischief II, Reckless Endangering, and several firearms related charges. Edwards was transported to Coos County Jail.
