ODFW release – SALEM, Ore.—Spots are still open in two waterfowl hunting workshops aimed at adult hunters coming up in La Grande (Oct. 28-29) and Coquille/Myrtle Point (Nov. 18-19). The two-day weekend workshops cost just $50 plus the cost of licenses. (Participants need a hunting license, waterfowl validation, free HIP validation and federal waterfowl stamp—see license costs here). Find more information about these and other workshops at https://myodfw.com/workshops-and-events The first day covers the basics of waterfowl biology and duck calling in the morning, followed by shotgun shooting practice in the afternoon. The second day is a mentored hunt at one of ODFW’s wildlife areas (Ladd Marsh and Coquille) where participants will put everything learned on day one into action from a duck blind. Sign up online (and purchase needed licenses) via ODFW’s licensing system under the Class/Workshop category. Workshop spaces are limited. Waterfowl hunting is a great opportunity for first-time hunters due to the long season and ability to hunt throughout the state.
