Three law enforcement agencies were involved in an attempt to elude chase Tuesday, Nov. 9 in Reedsport. According to reports, 44-year old Donald Jay Gillispie was the driver who allegedly failed to originally stop at a stop sign. What followed; however, was a slow, slow pursuit throughout the city involving running stop signs, traffic lights, failure to yield to pedestrians and cruising through parking lots. He was eventually stopped on Hwy. 101 and taken into custody on a variety of charges including: Attempt to Elude, Reckless Driving, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief, Failure to Perform Duties of a Driver, Reckless Endangering as well as Disobeying several Traffic Control Devices.
