Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Small Business Development Center (Southwestern SBDC) is pleased to announce center Director Arlene Soto has achieved GrowthWheel Certified Business Advisor status. GrowthWheel is a framework for business decision making. The SBDC will be using this tool to assist business clients with gaining perspective in all aspects of operating a successful business including business concept, organization, customer relations and operations. GrowthWheel is an internationally recognized business growth tool used by almost 1,500 business advisors worldwide. According to David Madie, Founder and CEO of GrowthWheel International, Inc. “The idea behind GrowthWheel is that there are four personal core disciplines that are crucial for the development of a company: You need to have an overview to maintain holistic perspective and understanding of the development. You need to make progress by focusing on the actions that make a difference for the development of the company. You need to maintain the passion which is one of the most important resources of an entrepreneur and the reason for high productivity. Finally, you need to build a community around the company and find areas where other people can help you by means of their specific competencies that you do not have yourself.” With GrowthWheel SBDC clients will be able to focus their time and energy on the areas of business they need to move forward in. The tool will be used to find alternative options and create a framework for decision making. Decisions are then transformed into action steps. Arlene Soto, Southwestern Oregon Community College Small Business Development Center Director states, “I see this tool as a way to move our small businesses into diverse opportunities through focused decisions and meaningful actions.” To make an appointment with a GrowthWheel certified business advisor go to www.BizCenter.org and request counseling assistance from the SBDC office near you.
