The Coos Bay Elks Lodge will be holding their 6th Annual Garage Sale for Snack Packs on July 24th and 25th, from 8:00 to 4:00, at 265 Central Avenue in Coos Bay. We have lots of items and would like more. If you have items to donate for the sale, please drop them at the lodge after 4:30 Tuesday thru Friday or call 541 266-7320 or 541 266-8300 and we will pick them up. For over 7 years the Coos Bay Lodge has supported the Snack Pack Program at Bunker Hill and Madison Elementary schools. With the closure of Bunker Hill, the Elks have continued their support of the Snack Pack Project at Madison Elementary starting with the 2011-12 school year. The Coos Bay Lodge has received $70,000 in grants from the Elks National Foundation for this community project. In addition, the lodge has held fund raisers and received donations of over $20,000 to continue their support of local youth. Elk volunteers have helped Oregon Coast Community Action prepare the Weekend Snack Packs for sites located on the South Coast. All from the garage sale are applied to this charity project.
