Snow in the Bay Area
A rare snowfall hit Oregon’s Bay Area Thursday morning. Looking at ODOT’s TripCheck cameras around the State, the snowfall was mostly contained to the westside of the Coast Range. The South Coast looked to be receiving the most with snow visible on the cameras from Brookings to Coos Bay. Six to eight-inches of snow were reported in some areas around the Bay. The cold path also continued north past Newport along Hwy. 101. A rare school closure day was enacted at Southwestern Oregon Community College, as well as within the Coos Bay and North Bend school districts.
