So. Umpqua River Body Identified, May 20

ROSEBURG, Ore. – The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified the body found in the South Umpqua River on Saturday, May 9th. Through the use of dental records a forensic odontologist identified the remains as those of Samuel Elijah Davison who went missing at the age of 36 in September of 2019. An autopsy and scene investigation have been conducted and foul play is not suspected at this time. Investigators are still seeking information and anyone with information regarding Davison’s disappearance is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division at (541) 440-4458.
