The U.S. Department of Transportation awarded a grant of $750,000 to Southwest Oregon Regional Airport (SORA) aimed at attracting an air carrier for service between North Bend and Portland. The Airport already provides limited yearly service to Denver and daily service to San Francisco. The grants is part of the 2019 Small Community Air Service Development Program and will reportedly allow Contour Airlines, a regional air carrier, to fund a revenue guarantee, marketing, and start-up cost rebates for the Airport.
