Oregon’s seasonally adjusted September unemployment rate was 5.5 percent; the national rate was 5.0 percent. The county’s payroll employment rose over the month by 180 jobs. Coos County added 360 jobs over the year ending in September for a 1.6 percent annual growth rate. Curry County’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 7.6 percent in September from a revised 7.5 percent in August. The rate is 0.9 percentage point below the September 2015 rate (8.5%). The county’s payroll employment rose over the month by 90 jobs. Curry County added 340 jobs over the year ending in September for a 5.2 percent annual growth rate.
