According to figures released by the Oregon State Employment Dept. June 21, 2023 – Coos County’s Labor Force report shows 1,011 unemployed during the month of May 2023. That compares with 918 in April 2023 and 1,129 in May 2022. The unemployment rate in Coos Co. for May 2023: 3.9% (seasonally adjusted 4.8%); April 2023: 3.6% (SA 5.1%); and, May 2022: 4.3% (SA 4.8%). In Curry Co., 343 unemployed in May 2023, 304 in April 2023, and 387 in May 2022. Unemployment rate – May 2023: 3.9% (SA 4.8%); April 2023: 3.5% (SA 5.1%); and, May 2022: 4.2% (SA 4.9%).
