South Empire Blvd Waterline Relocation Project, Aug. 14

The Coos Bay-North Bend Water Board is replacing a water main on South Empire Blvd from Newmark Avenue to Wisconsin Avenue, a distance of 4,200 ft. The Water Board’s contractor Knife River Materials is performing the work. The water main work is progressing from Newmark Avenue southerly, and segments of South Empire Blvd will be temporarily closed to through traffic as the work advances. However, South Empire Blvd will be utilized for one-way southbound traffic to Charleston as much as possible. Northbound traffic will continue to be diverted around the work area via Marple Street. On Friday, August 24th southbound traffic will be directed to South Empire Blvd for one block to Michigan Avenue followed by detours to Michigan Avenue and Marple Street.
