Southern Oregon Coast Pride: Youth Leadership & Advocacy Workshop 2022, Nov. 4

Coos Bay, Oregon—On November 5th, 2022, Southern Oregon Coast Pride to host the first Youth Leadership and Advocacy Workshop for BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ youth and their allies. Participants are invited to join conversations about identity, history, and how their voice adds to the movements across the globe that are striving to create safe, equitable communities. The day will begin with an opportunity to get to know your fellow attendees and then move into culturally specific workshops that will be debriefed in various discussion circles and facilitated by local community members. The event will take place on Nov 5th, 2022, at the Southwestern Oregon Community College, Coos Campus in the Empire Hall. The doors will open at 9:30 am and the event will begin at 10 am. Transportation and language interpretation for the event may be provided. To receive transportation or interpretation services, participants must register by October 18th and indicate those support needs. Registration will remain open until Nov 1st for those not requiring transportation assistance. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. The event is organized by the South Coast Equity Coalition, Southern Oregon Coast Pride, Coos Hispanic Allies, The ARK Project, NARA, and other community leaders.
