Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into the cause of Sunday afternoon’s single vehicle fatal traffic crash along Stringer Gap Road near New Hope Road south of Grants Pass. According to Sergeant Brandon Boice, on June 1, 2014 at approximately 2:14 p.m., a 1993 Jeep Cherokee driven by CHRIS ALBERT ERICKSON, age 59, from Grants Pass, was traveling eastbound on Stringer Gap Road near milepost 1 at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control. The vehicle went off the road, struck an embankment and rolled, ejecting the driver. The vehicle and driver came to rest partially on the road and shoulder. ERICKSON was pronounced deceased at the scene.
