On March 12, 2017 at about 3 p. m., Troopers and Josephine County Deputies responded to a reported shooting at a residence on Wilderville Lane, which is approximately 9 miles west of Grants Pass in Josephine County. The investigation is ongoing and the Oregon State Police Criminal Division is leading the investigation. Upon law enforcement arrival, they located one male, Rucy PEREZ, age 50 from the Grants Pass area that was shot several times. PEREZ was transported to a local hospital and has since been moved to a hospital in the Springfield area. The home owner is cooperating with detectives and the investigation.
