Southwestern facilitates advising with Southern Oregon University for persons interested in becoming an Elementary Teacher, May 7

SWOCC release – Coos Bay, OR – Becoming an elementary teacher on the southern coast of Oregon is now a reality! Southwestern Oregon Community College and Southern Oregon University (SOU) have designed a partnership that provides students a pathway to earn their bachelor’s degree and teaching license without leaving the area. There is also a process for people who already have a bachelor’s to take courses and earn the teaching license.  On May 19 and 20, 2020 the Education Studies Satellite Program Coordinator at SOU, Susan Faller, will be virtually visiting Coos and Curry county by offering phone or video appointments to anyone interested in learning more about the program. There is still time to be admitted into the Fall 2020 cohort. For more information, contact Jaimee Belzer at 541-888-1518 or universitycenter@email.socc.edu. Appointments outside of these two dates can also be arranged.
