Southwestern Oregon Community College will be offering two winter Softball Clinics; Monday, January 16, 2017 and Monday February 20, 2017. Southwestern’s coaching staff, along with Laker Softball players, will be teaching the instructional youth softball clinics to athletes who desire to develop and improve their fundamental skills and become better softball players. The clinic attendees will receive focused attention and specific instruction needed to improve their individual skills. Attendees will be grouped by position to allow and ensure everyone makes the most of their time spent with our coaching staff. The Youth Clinics will be offered for ages 6-12 and the cost is $25 per person. The Youth Clinics will cover specialized throwing and fundamentals of hitting, fielding form and techniques, base running, and a number of drills for attendees to take home with them. Both Clinics will have registration and check in at 10:30 am inside the Student Recreation Center on the Coos campus, 1988 Newmark Ave., Coos Bay, and the clinics will begin at approximately 11:00 am, lunch will be 12:30 pm-1:00 pm and the camp will conclude around 3:00 pm. Attendees will need to bring tennis shoes, cleats, glove, bat, helmet and a lunch (water or sports drink). On February 20, 2017 we will also be holding a specialized clinic for PITCHERS and CATCHERS from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Student Recreation Center, with check in and registration at 8:30 am. The cost for the pitching and catching clinic is $25 per person. The attendees will be taught based on skill level.
