SWOCC release – Coos Bay, OR – Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Psychology, Speech, and Criminal Justice programs will be hosting former inmate Ray Fox in a free lecture where he will discuss the value of learning public speaking. Ray became a successful public speaker while in prison through a non-profit program called Toastmasters. Join us for his inspiring talk on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the Eden Hall lecture room on the Coos campus of Southwestern, 1988 Newmark Ave., Coos Bay. Ray Fox spent 30 years in prison for murder. In an interview with Karen James on the radio program Prison Pipeline (a program dedicated to educating the public about the Oregon criminal justice system) Ray credits his successful transition from prison to life on the outside with his involvement in groups, like the Toastmasters, while in prison. Toastmasters helped Ray build self-esteem, self-confidence, and learn to effectively communicate. He currently serves as Club Coach for Rose City Toastmasters. Ray also worked with troubled youth while in prison. For more information visit: https://kboo.fm/media/50871-ray-fox-life-after-prison
