Southwestern SBDC offers “Creating a Customer Focused Business” course, Sept. 8

Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Small Business Development Center (Southwestern SBDC) is offering a three session training series that focuses on creating a customer focused business. Great customer service and a proactive business culture lead to business profits.  This series of classes will answer key business questions such as: “Is your company culture empowering to employees?” and “How ethical is your company?”  In this course participants will learn how to improve business from the top down. The series will kick off on October 10, 2017 with “Business Ethics.”  The class will focus on the best ways to establish an ethical business environment. On November 4, 2017 the focus is “Great Customer Service Skills”. Refining customer service skills is ongoing in any business.  Develop ways to continuously improve the experience customers have when they buy from you. Finally, on December 12, 2017 the class will cover “Empowering Your Company Culture”.  In this session we will focus on how company culture develops and how to continuously improve on it. The presenter for the series is Marty Giles.  Ms. Giles is owner/operator of two businesses:  Wavecrest Discoveries, a nature-guiding service that specializes in “mind-refreshing” explorations of the Southern Oregon Coast; and Sharp Point Writing & Editing, contract writing and editing services specializing in semi-technical and non-fiction. Preregistration at www.Bizcenter.org is required to insure seating availability and materials.  The course will be held in Coos Bay at the Newmark Center, 1988 Newmark Ave., from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm on Tuesday October 10th, Tuesday November 14th and Tuesday December 12th 2017.  Curry and Western Douglas County businesses will be able to attend via interactive video.  The cost of this course is $185.  Contact the Southwestern SBDC at 541-888-7026 or email Mary Loiselle at mloiselle@socc.edu for more information.
