Southwestern SBDC offers Dollars and Sense for Your Business course, June 1

Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Small Business Development Center (Southwestern SBDC) is offering a three session training series that focuses on understanding sources of funding for a business.  Creating and using money wisely in a business is critical for success.  This 3 session module will teach business owners how to: access capital, price appropriately and prepare for financing. To kick off the series on July 11th the topic is Are You Bankable. Being prepared to meet with a lender is critical before making an appointment with the bank.  Know what documentation will be needed. Understand credit and find out the best way to approach a lender. On August 8th the class will cover Explore Funding Sources.  Learn the various ways to fund business needs from startup to maturity and from working capital to purchasing assets. Finally, on September 12th we will cover Pricing Strategy.  Gain an understanding of pricing for profitability and for the market.  Find out how price communicates value to customers. The presenter for the series is Chris Christoffer.  Mr. Christoffer retired from Sterling Bank after 43 years in commercial banking.  As a commercial lender, he has a thorough knowledge of small business financial and cash flow management.  He is a strong advocate for small business.
