During each visit to Coos Bay, the Tall Ships Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain ask permission from local Native American tribes to use area waters. The 2016 ceremony with the Coquille Tribe and the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, May 7 at the Coos Bay Boardwalk.
