Star of Hope receives Grant, Nov. 25

Star of Hope Activity Center, Inc., a non-profit organization in Coos Bay was created to help adults with developmental disabilities optimize their self-sufficiency and independence. This 51 year-old premise continues to be reflected in the Mission Statement of Star of Hope “To provide community support services in Southwestern, Oregon to adults with developmental disabilities in a manner which encourages independence, productivity, and physical integration.” Recently Star of Hope was awarded a grant of $10,000.00 from (TMS) Trust Management Services, LLC. TMS funds non-profit organizations throughout Oregon. Six Regions comprise the 36 counties in Oregon. Three Regions are funded annually; each county is funded bi-annually. The TMS grant award supports the Star of Hope Sustainable Jobs Initiative which is designed to serve nearly 100 clients all with developmental disabilities. The funds awarded will allow Star of Hope to purchase portable receptacles for use in the recycling services offered throughout Coos Bay.
