SALEM, Ore. – An Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) state forests advisory group will meet Friday, June 19 virtually via Zoom to learn about public comments received on planned state forest activities and receive an update on COVID-19 impacts on recreational use of state forests. The State Forests Advisory Committee will meet at 8:30 a.m. via the Zoom virtual meeting platform. Instructions to view or listen to the meeting will be posted along with the full meeting agenda at http://www.oregon.gov/ODF/Board/Pages/SFAC.aspx. The agenda includes: Annual Operations Plans public comment update and summary Updates from the Recreation, Education and Interpretation team on COVID-19 effects on public use, plans for phased re-opening, current approaches on target shooting, and a 2021 legislative Policy Option Package, Update on State Forests Division budget, Fire season update. There will be opportunity for public comment; currently this is scheduled for approximately 11:45 a.m. Requests for an interpreter for the hearing impaired or other accommodations for persons with disabilities should be made at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
