News release Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On May 19, 2016 at approximately 12:07 pm, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban that had been stolen from an address in Lakeside. The responding Deputy developed information that the suspect in the case was 35 year old Marlynn Mullins of Lakeside. At approximately 2:00 pm, another Deputy observed the stolen vehicle on Shinglehouse Road near Red Dike Road, just west of Coos Bay. The vehicle was towing a large enclosed cargo trailer. When the Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, it accelerated and turned onto Sneddon Lane in an attempt to flee the Deputy. The Deputy caught up to the vehicle on Sneddon Lane where the vehicle stopped and all of the occupants fled on foot. Coos Bay Police K9 Dak and Coos County Sheriff’s Office K9 Odin responded to the scene and participated in the search for the suspects. Camden McSorely, 30 years old, and Patrick Donley, 49 years old, both of North Bend were located during the search and taken into custody. They were both taken to the Coos County jail and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Escape III, Attempt to Elude and Parole Violation. Through further investigation at the scene, the other two people who fled the vehicle were identified as Marlynn Mullins, 35 years old and Kenneth Mullins Jr. 37 years old, both of Charleston. Through the course of the investigation, the cargo trailer being pulled by the stolen vehicle was found to be stolen from TarHeel Aluminum in Charleston. The trailer had been stolen shortly before it was located and had not yet been reported stolen. This case remains under further investigation and more charges are expected. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the search and investigation by Coos Bay Police, North Bend Police, and Oregon State Police.
