CCSO release – On 9/05/21 at approximately 10:43 AM, Deputies were dispatched to a report of Criminal Trespass that occurred at a residence on North Bay Rd. in North Bend. The reporting party stated they were able to obtain the license plate of the vehicle prior to it leaving. Upon further investigation, it was found that the license plates had been reported stolen a few weeks prior. Deputies along with assistance from the Oregon State Police located the vehicle traveling south bound on Highway 101 and initiated a traffic stop. During the course of the investigation, the driver identified as 28 year old Phillip J. Brazille was arrested for Probation Violation, and the passenger identified as 27 year old James B. Merchant was also arrested on multiple Felony warrants. Both subjects will also be referred to the District Attorney’s Office for multiple other charges including Unlawful Possession of Heroin, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon and Providing False information to a Police Officer
