Stolen Vehicle, Whiskey Run Lane, Feb. 9

CCSO release – On February 7, 2021, at approximately 5:38 PM, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a man, stating he was currently on Whiskey Run. The male identified the female in possession of his stolen vehicle as his ex-girlfriend, 39 year old Amy Bumcrot. The male gave Dispatch the female’s information and license plate of the black Toyota Tacoma, while attempting to stay on scene waiting for Deputies to arrive. Dispatch contacted the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and confirmed it was stolen. It was also discovered Bumcrot has more than one active warrant for her arrest and was on probation out of Lane County. A Bandon Police Officer assisted in responding to the scene, located the Tacoma traveling south on Whiskey run, and initiated a high-rick traffic stop at the intersection of Whiskey Run and Randolph road. Bumcrot was taken into custody without further incident. During the investigation, ammunition and a magazine were located inside the vehicle. Bumcrot’s Probation Officer was contacted and issued a Probation Violation Detainer. Bumcrot was transport to the Reedsport Police Department Jail for the Probation Violation Detainer, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Driving While Suspended – Misdemeanor and the active Warrants. Bumcrot was lodged on the abovementioned charges as well as issued citations for Traffic Violations.
