Weather Alert National Weather Service for Thursday, Friday & Saturday, Oct. 19 – 21.  Moderate to Heavy Rain – ● Slick rain-covered roads. ● Ponding on roadways possible especially in Curry County. ● Mud or rock slides are possible near recent burn scars in Curry, western Josephine and western Siskiyou counties.Strong gusty Winds; ● Gale force winds expected in the coastal waters. ● Travel difficulties for high profile vehicles with strong south winds along the coastal headlands. ● Damaged trees may be blown down in recent burn scar areas. ● Elevated fire weather concerns are possible with any new fire starts or prescribed burns as gusty south winds develop ahead of the front for areas from the Cascades east and in the Shasta Valley. High Seas and High Surf – ● Dangerous and chaotic very steep seas are possible ahead of and with the frontal passage, transitioning to very high and very steep northwest swell-driven seas. Large breakers and hazardous bar crossings expected. ● High surf conditions will bring dangerous conditions for beach goers along the coast. Wind – ○ Gales may develop over the coastal waters Wednesday night through Thursday afternoon. ○ Strong winds may develop along the coast on Thursday, peaking Thursday afternoon. Strongest winds are expected at headlands with gusts of 45 to 65 mph.
