Southwestern Oregon Community College is offering a free, interactive series of workshops, for PARENTS and YOUNG TEENS TOGETHER, focusing on how to communicate effectively with one another as well as how to balance love and respect with setting appropriate limits. Teens attend their own session where they learn peer refusal skills and how to come together with their parents as a family unit. Free healthy snacks will be provided. Childcare may be available for younger siblings, please call to inquire. Communication skills and family meetings; Building bridges, dealing with peer pressure; Protecting against substance abuse and setting limits; Family fun and communication activities with parents and teens together for the last 45 minutes of each class. The Workshops will take place at Harbor Lights Middle School in Bandon, Monday evenings, February 10, 2014 to March 17, 2014, from 5:45 pm to 7:45 pm.
